July 24, 2019 – Agile Manufacturing, an Ontario-based provider of 3D printing and rapid manufacturing solutions, has had its operations certified compliant with the ISO 9001:2015 standard, an internationally recognized achievement for operational excellence.

Agile received ISO 9001:2015 certification in April 2019 and was also registered for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) for its 3D printed parts in July 2019. The CGP recognizes components and technical data that are of military or national security significance.

According to the ISO website, the ISO 9001:2015 standard is predicated on quality management, whereby an organization must demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

“We’re excited to add the ISO certification, which is a continuation of our Lean manufacturing efforts focused on delivering the best possible customer experience,” says Richard Smeenk, president of Agile Manufacturing, in a release. “The Controlled Goods certification expands our addressable market by enabling us to use additive manufacturing to support Canadian defense contractors and security forces locally, nationally and abroad.”
